VRB Vacancies

The current daily fee for a Senior Member is $854.00 and a Services Member/Member is $769.00.

The Veterans’ Review Board invites applications for appointment as a part-time Senior Member in Brisbane and Adelaide; part-time Services Members in Adelaide and Melbourne, Hobart/Launceston; and part-time members in Sydney and Brisbane.

The Veterans’ Review Board is the second level of the repatriation determining system and sits in panels of three persons (normally a Senior Member, Services Member and Member) to review decisions of delegates of the Repatriation Commission and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission.

Services Members are not advocates for veterans and nor do they give evidence on behalf of veterans but their general military experience and/or knowledge of military operations, activities, procedures and protocols should be of such a nature as to allow them to clearly explain to colleagues the practicalities, perhaps put briefly by veterans and widows, of service. Where such an explanation is called for it must be done in the presence of the veteran or the widow. Apart from that important capacity the criteria for the appointment of Services Members is the same for other members.
